Effective Scheduling Techniques & Physician/Staff Utilization (PF01)

Maximizing the time of physicians and staff while providing excellent patient service is a challenge that every busy practice must come to terms with. Participants will learn techniques for evaluating scheduling demands, giving each patient the full amount of time needed, making room for walk-ins and urgent unscheduled patients and keeping room in the schedule to get new patients in without a long wait. You will learn how to use modified wave schedules tailored to each physician and mid-level provider. You will also learn techniques for scheduling rooms and equipment as well as keeping the back-office flow moving at an efficient pace without feeling too rushed for the patient. This program is designed for all staff and physicians.

Telephone Management (FP02)

Telephones can be one of the most frustrating aspects of work for many people. Participants in this program will learn how to estimate telephone demand by call type, provider and time of day. You will also learn how to apply different resources at different times of the day and day of the week to satisfy the demand. Learn how to use voicemail systems to improve patient service and staff productivity. Find out how to use alternatives to the telephone for effective communications and learn about the latest technology in telephone systems. This program is designed for all staff.

Medical Records Management (PF03)

The days when the medical record was only the private document of the physician are long gone. In today's medical marketplace payers, patients and government expect to be able to review and have access to a copy of the record. Creating legible, complete and accurate records that will withstand the scrutiny of legal challenges as well as compliance audits is the newest challenge facing medical practices. Participants will learn how to accomplish these tasks utilizing the latest techniques in paper records, electronic records and voice recognition. You will also learn general requirements for retention of records, storage and production of records. This program is designed for managers and physicians.

Marketing Strategies for Medical Practices (PF04)

Marketing is not just advertising. Marketing is a system for evaluating the needs of the marketplace and the ability of the practice to meet those needs. participants will learn the key factors in analyzing their own practice, determining which needs of the market can be met profitably by the practice and how to create a complete marketing plan. Specific strategies will be discussed based on the four A's: Availability, Affability, Affordability and Ability. You will learn how to segment your marketplace, differentiate your services from your competitor's and track your referrals as well as track patient satisfaction. You will learn how to identify both your personal and professional goals and develop strategies for achieving these goals.
